Commercial Architectural AutoCAD Drafter - Fully Remote

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Architectural Drafter with expertise in AutoCAD to join our architectural team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed architectural drawings for commercial projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong technical drafting skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to work collaboratively with architects and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and Design: Create detailed architectural drawings and plans for commercial projects using AutoCAD. Ensure all drawings are accurate, precise, and adhere to project specifications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback into designs. Assist in coordinating project drawings and ensuring consistency across all documents.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and industry standards. Stay updated on relevant regulations and incorporate necessary changes into designs.
• Revisions and Updates: Revise and update drawings based on feedback from architects, engineers, and clients. Ensure all changes are accurately reflected in the final drawings.
• Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project notes. Ensure all documents are properly archived and accessible.
• Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness. Identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies.
• Site Surveys: Assist in conducting site surveys and measurements to gather necessary data for accurate drafting. Incorporate survey data into project drawings.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to project teams, including troubleshooting and resolving drafting-related issues. Assist in training junior drafters as needed.
• Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating project timelines and deliverables. Ensure all drafting work is completed on time and meets project deadlines.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving drafting processes and practices. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in architectural drafting, preferably in commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design principles and building codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with Revit or other BIM software is a plus.
• LEED certification or knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.
