Position Summary

Metergy is seeking a highly adaptable Assistant Manager, Utility Meter Reading to support U.S. meter reading operations. This is a dynamic “swing” role, balancing field coverage with operational and administrative support (approximately 80% field / 20% coordination).

The role supports the Meter Reading Manager and U.S. Field Services team, requiring frequent travel (Massachusetts to Washington, D.C.), with a primary focus on the Greater Philadelphia area. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

    • Provide meter reading coverage across assigned regions, ensuring completion of scheduled readings
    • Assist the Meter Reading Manager in day-to-day operations and additional tasks as needed
    • Support U.S. Field Services with administrative, coordination, and field-related work
    • Travel frequently across regions (Massachusetts to Washington, D.C.), with a focus on the Greater Philadelphia area
    • Perform manual meter readings and submit accurate data using company systems
    • Coordinate site access with property managers and maintain schedules
    • Track progress and complete reporting using internal systems and routing tools
    • Communicate and report onsite issues in a timely and professional manner

Requirements

    • Access to a reliable personal vehicle
    • High School Diploma required
    • 5+ years' of experience in Customer Service and/or Utilities
    • Highly adaptable with the ability to manage a variety of responsibilities in a “swing” role
    • Strong organizational, time management, and coordination skills
    • High level of comfort with administrative tasks and office-based support work
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and strong overall technical aptitude
    • Willingness and ability to travel frequently
    • Strong communication and client-facing skills
    • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
    • Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in field services, meter read
