Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Specialty Engineering Manager 3, Deputy to the Specialty Engineering Director.  This position is located in Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. 

What You Will Get To Do:
As a Sr. Manager reporting to the SEIT Specialty Engineering Director, you will be responsible for providing execution leadership for the planning and performance of specialty systems engineering activities across the SEIT portfolio. You will be responsible for technical oversight, programmatic oversight, and on-schedule development of systems engineering products as the primary delegate to the SEIT Specialty Engineering Director. You will be expected to manage day-to-day operations of the SEIT team which consists of engineers executing SEIT Specialty scope across the segments and IPTs of the Sentinel program.  In this position, the Deputy Lead must understand the detailed program road-map to major program events and the responsibilities of the SEIT team to meet event and contractual criteria.  


This is a highly strategic role that requires systems thinking, organizational awareness, and expertise in cost, schedule, and technical risks related to specialty engineering disciplines.


Responsibilities include:
•    Leading the integration of specialty engineering disciplines across programs to ensure robust, innovative, and compliant solutions.
•    Supporting program schedules, milestones, and deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks to specialty engineering performance.
•    Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop strategies for optimizing system lifecycle performance, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring program success.
•    Providing expertise in specialty engineering areas such as  Nuclear Hardness, , System Safety,  E3 (EMI, EMC and TEMPEST), and Human Systems Engineering.
•    Ensuring adherence to programmatic requirements, regulatory compliance, and company processes.
•    Mentoring, coaching, and developing a diverse team of specialty engineering professionals.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related experience
•    A minimum of 3 years in a formal management position leading a team of engineers (10+ personnel)
•    Minimum of 3 years experience managing cost, schedule and performance of large government technical statements of work
•    Experience in Earned Value Financial Management (EVMS).
•    Experience in milestone planning and execution to completion (e.g. Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, etc.)
•    Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope.
•    Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and DoD Top Secret clearance approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
