The Opportunity
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Director, Demand Planning, you will provide strategic leadership for global demand planning and S&OP processes across the ADC Division, covering 3 Areas and 44 countries. Drive forecast accuracy, automation, and alignment between commercial demand, OEM strategic plans, and supply capacity. Ensure continuity in supply-constrained environments while enabling long-term growth and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Demand Planning & Forecasting:
• Manage global S&OP and demand planning processes to minimize business impact in supply-constrained conditions.
• Support RLBE process by identifying risks and opportunities to the latest demand forecast through S&OP and trend analysis; validate supply capacity ahead of sign-off.
• Identify gaps and disconnects between commercial demand forecasts, OEM strategic portfolio archetypes, and production capacity; recommend corrective actions.
• Lead long-term planning updates (volume and value) as part of OEM process to align supply capacity with upcoming product transitions (e.g., Universal Reader, FSL3 form factor).
Process Design & Optimization:
• Design and implement processes for managing constrained production lines, including cadence, tools, KPIs, and strategies based on severity of constraints.
• Drive automation and forecast accuracy improvements to reduce excess and obsolete inventory costs.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
• Act as primary contact for other functions; summarize key trends and implications for short- and long-term business decisions.
• Represent Commercial in monthly (MBR, PMR) and quarterly/yearly reviews; identify process improvements and lead cross-functional projects.
• Prioritize commercial launch requests across regions based on strategy, ROI, and competitive landscape.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
• Lead demand forecast for ADC long-term strategic planning, supporting capital planning and OEM initiatives.
• Provide insights and recommendations to executive management with clarity and simplicity.
