As a CoStar Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing and verification of software systems. QA Engineers utilize a combination of functional testing methods, automated testing tools and load testing tools. Typically responsible for writing test cases that ensure compliance with acceptance criteria developed during sprint planning. Are typically embedded with development teams. Ensures adequate product testing prior to each release. Responsible for tracking bugs and retesting as bugs are fixed.
This position is in our Irvine office and is a hybrid work dynamic with 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
Responsibilities
- Performs functional, end-to-end, integration, regression, browser and exploratory testing
- Ensures that products conform to business requirements/company policies, software quality standards, and established procedures
- Validates products against specs, design and code
- Designs, documents and implements procedures and techniques that are consistent with departmental SQA Methodology for analyzing, testing, and evaluating risk (software & business), accuracy, completeness, internal integrity/consistency, testability and overall quality of business systems and SDLC processes
- Creates and maintains SQA deliverables including test plans, test cases, test data, project test progress and release reports, application turnover documents and test schedules
- Recommends and assists in corrective actions taken at all stages of product life

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university of or college
- A track record of commitment to prior employers
- 5+ years experience as a software quality assurance test engineer
- An understanding of quality assurance test methodologies, deliverables, processes, strategies, metrics, techniques and the software development life cycle (SDLC), is critical.
- Experience with Agile and scrum ceremonies
- Strong experience in writing detailed defect reports
- Experience in tailing logs and conducting root cause analysis
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases
- Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational, collaboration, written and verbal skills
- Proven capacity to effectively work, communicate and troubleshoot test results with dynamic development teams
- Self-motivator, who can work independently, able to learn quickly, meets deadlines, and demonstrates good analytical and problem-solving skills
