Core Manufacturing Engineering in the Operational Excellence organization is hiring a Program Chief Manufacturing Engineer (PCME) to led Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements in support manufacturing readiness for Pratt & Whitney’s 6th Generation war fighter propulsion system.

The PCME is the manufacturing representative on the Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT).  The PCME will closely with Quality, Industrial, Procurement and Engineering program leadership to support the program goals.  The PCME is responsible for MRL progression and producibility reporting at the program level.   The scope of this role will include both Pratt & Whitney internal shop and supply chain components.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment. The ideal candidate will be an experience, proactive, and goal oriented professional to lead MRL execution for the program capable of clean and concise communication. This resource will have a key role in refining and improving MRL standard work as it applies to early phase programs.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide strategy and guidance to the manufacturing engineers and Integrated Product Teams (IPT’s) supporting MRL progression.  The PCME will support all program activities with the coordination, communication, and reporting of program MRL plan with CIPT’s, Module Centers, and Global Supply Chain. 
  • The PCME for 6th Gen will also have the unique opportunity to be the manufacturing point of contact for Pratt & Whitney’s 6th gen external customer. 
  • Travel up to 20% can be expected.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial, mechanical) or related technical field or 10 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment or Masters degree and 7 years advanced degree
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities for various part families or various processes.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Holds a current U.S government issued Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacture.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • CORE/Six Sigma Practitioner/professional certification.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement concepts: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
