Position Summary

The Field Coordinator in the Office of Field Education assumes a key role in the support and provision of a student-centered, data-driven placement process. Under the supervision of the Field Placement Manager, this position will coordinate placement data tracking and management of placement details, including database management and internship development. Additional responsibilities include student field advising, assessing community partnerships between the Graduate School of Social Work and community agencies for the purpose of securing quality placements for all students in the social work program, and event/training coordination. The Field Coordinator will work across all programs but will have primary responsibility split between the Denver Campus and MSW@Denver programs. This position is part of a promotional ladder that may eventually lead to eligibility as a Senior Field Coordinator.

Essential Functions

Coordinate Student and Agency Data Tracking and Management (60%)

  • Work in tandem with Field Program Manager to develop and manage Tevera field database and maintain integration of all programs into a unified database.
  • Maintain and update agency screening tools/relevant field materials and coordinate with Field Program Manager to ensure materials are updated and available.
  • Track quarterly field plan/registration information and collaborate with relevant teams
  • Pull, assess, and present data reports to coordinate internal processes, including program evaluation
  • Maintain and distribute accurate MSW@Denver student placement lists, and manage change of placement information, including communication across all constituents
  • Support program administration as needed

Coordinate Student and Agency Field Placements (35%)

  • Meet with students to assess learning needs, match with appropriate agencies and follow-up until successful confirmation of placement.
  • Recruit, screen, and assess potential agencies to determine suitability for social work students, and determine appropriate student level for each agency
  • Collaborate with 2U Placement Team and internal GSSW teams regarding consistent messaging/protocols across programs Provide consultation and mentorship to agencies on structuring internships, and developing appropriate learning activities for students to meet program and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate and track types of field options/exceptions, such as place of employment internships, Extended Field Learning, duplicate placements, stipend/certificates, etc.

Other Department and Field Program Responsibilities: (5%)

  • Co-facilitation of trainings/orientations and development of training/orientation resources.
  • Event planning/coordination
  • Serve on departmental committees as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Duties: This position may supervise student employees

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to articulate understanding of social work knowledge, values, and skills;
  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite;
  • Demonstrated capacity to learn and utilize new technologies/data platform/learning software;
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating complex dynamics and utilizing supervision for guidance;
  • Acute attention to detail;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at once in a timely fashion;
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities;
  • Ability to act as a liaison between multiple individuals, businesses or agencies;
