About the role

Arch Amenities Group, the leading spa, fitness and amenity management firm is seeking a Director of Event Sales to lead a brand new waterfront business class meetings and events facility that is over 60,000 SF in Jersey City. The Director of Event Sales is responsible for maximizing the value of the asset by driving topline revenues for corporate meetings, social events, and weddings. This position will focus on developing strategic relationships and soliciting new accounts for lead generation in alignment with the company growth strategy.

Responsibilities: 

  • Have a command of the local market and create sales and marketing plans to maximize event business at our facilities, meeting all annual financial and operational targets
  • Solicit new corporate, social, and weddings clients to meet/exceed sales goals.
  • B2B and B2C Selling and Lead Generation, Implement a structured prospecting and business development plan, strategy, and tactical efforts. Build brand awareness for every approach.
  • Report on a regular basis sales results vs target to senior leadership and create plans to address any variation to commitments.
  • You will be the person that builds the meetings, events and group catering business and brand presence.
  • Utilize your hotel, catering and/or event and meeting experience to drive leads by prospecting the neighborhood initiating conversations and opening doors with corporations, law firms, associations, trade groups, government offices, government agencies, social and catering organizations that can drive leads to you for bookings.
  • Contract, plan, and oversee events that are booked in the conference and amenity space. 
  • Work with third party caterers to finalize client food and beverage needs.  
  • Conduct and coordinate client appointments and site inspections to showcase the meeting and amenity space. 
  • Oversee on-site engagement programming as well as daily operations of tenant lounge, terrace, conference space, and wellness rooms.   
  • Own end-to-end strategy, planning and execution of all events, activations and programs, including but not limited to: calendar curation & ideation, budgeting, marketing, vendor sourcing and contracting, temporary staffing, and reporting . 
  • Collaborate with client and senior engagement team to curate a calendar of events, activations, and programs -- informed by tenant composition -- to increase tenant engagement and retention.  
  • Collaborate with client and senior engagement team to draft and maintain realistic budgets, communicating all financial details to the accounts team in a timely manner and ensuring accurate post-event reconciliation.  
  • Effectively market all engagement programming, social clubs, and tenant perks through a variety of channels, including but not limited to: tenant app, printed collateral, email newsletter, and social media.  
  • Create and sustain productive client and vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts, developing preferred vendor list, and coordinating insurance requirements for onsite work .
  • Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures and working effectively with senior engagement team, building stakeholders, onsite staff, and temporary workers.   
  • Collects and maintains accurate engagement metrics, using data and lessons learned to iterate and improve on future programming.  
  • Documents engagement programming.      
  • Provides excellent customer service and monitors guest feedback through the use of comment cards and other customer care techniques. Supervises and follows up on guest requests and comments.  
  • Identifies, evaluates, and resolves problems or concerns from management and/or tenant in a timely manner, utilizing innovative ideas and sound judgment.  
  • Ensure compliance with any state and local licensing requirements as required by code.  
  • Be an excellent communicator and master of juggling priorities and multi-tasking. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of Hospitality sales experience selling corporate meetings, weddings, and catering events for hotels, large scale event and catering facilities, or restaurant brands with meeting and event spaces, or conference centers.
