The Clinical Trial Screening Coordinator is responsible for the initial screening and pre-enrollment assessment of patients for clinical trials. This role ensures that potential participants meet the eligibility criteria while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines, institutional policies, and study protocols. The coordinator works closely with clinical research teams, patients, and investigators to facilitate recruitment, and optimize enrollment efficiency.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Screening & Recruitment:
- Identify potential study participants based on protocol-specific eligibility criteria.
- Meticulously conduct pre-screening assessments through general screening questionnaire data, medical record reviews, patient interviews if deemed necessary, and coordination with healthcare providers.
- Communicate recruitment progress, challenges, and potential risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage lists and data as needed.
- Implement given recruitment strategies to meet enrollment targets.
Eligibility Assessment & Coordination:
- Review and verify medical history, diagnostic reports, phonescreen information, and lab results to assess eligibility.
- Coordinate required pre-study evaluations and procedures in compliance with the protocol.
- Collaborate with clinical research associates, investigators, and other relevant site staff to assess potential participants against the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the trial.
- Live responses and close communication with all patient enrollment teams.
- Assess quality of bookings if needed.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities, eligibility assessments, and enrollment status.
- Compile reports when necessary on pre-screening and recruitment efforts.
- Maintain documentation on patient information as needed.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize the screening process.
- Collaborate with the enrollment team and sites to reach randomization goals by ensuring high-quality bookings.
- Train recruitment and other stakeholders as needed on clinical protocols.
- Patient facing communication when necessary, including request for information, clarification of any questions, confirmations, etc.
Performance Evaluation:
- Ability to conduct quality reviews based on various KPIs set forth by management.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with relevant internal and external stakeholders as needed through verbal and/or written communication.
- Ability to actively contribute to and assist the team in achieving its randomization targets.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
- A Foreign Medical Graduate or related medical degree.
Experience:
- Experience in clinical research, patient recruitment, healthcare coordination or, academic medical centersettings.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong verbal and written professional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in various management systems, including e-source.
