Job Description

The Director of Operations at Iacofano’s Catering is a key leadership role focused on supporting the Vice President of Facility Operations and developing the management team. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in the catering or hospitality industry, capable of driving operational excellence and ensuring the highest standards of white-glove service. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Vice President to implement strategies that enhance efficiency, performance, and customer satisfaction, while also mentoring and developing department heads and senior managers.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support

• Assist the VP of Facility Operations in overseeing daily operations including catering services, kitchen operations, logistics, and customer service.
• Ensure operational processes are efficient and meet the company’s quality standards.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

Strategic Implementation

• Collaborate with the VP of Facility Operations to execute operational strategies.
• Assist in the annual planning and budgeting process.
• Contribute to the development of strategies that drive growth and profitability.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage and mentor department heads and senior managers.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
• Develop comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and competencies of senior managers.
• Create succession plans to ensure leadership continuity.
• Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities for senior managers to prepare them for higher      responsibilities.
• Ensure alignment of all teams with the company’s vision and goals.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
• Address operational issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Financial Management

• Assist in managing budgets and financial plans for operations.
• Ensure cost-effective operations and efficient resource management.
• Analyze financial data to support informed business decisions.

Sales Goals

• Oversee the sales team and ensure they meet their targets and objectives.
• Identify new sales opportunities and strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Implement sales strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health, and safety standards.
• Implement and oversee safety programs and initiatives.
• Ensure all operations adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.

Growth and Innovation

• Identify and pursue growth opportunities for the company, including new markets, services, and      partnerships.
• Lead initiatives that drive innovation and expansion.
• Evaluate and implement strategies to increase market share and profitability.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Hospitality required. MBA highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in the catering or hospitality industry, with at least 4 years in a senior management role.
• Travel Required: Between 50-75% dependent on needs of the business.
