How can you make a difference?

The Child Protection Officer reports to the Child Protection Manager for supervision. You will also serve as the Gaza Technical Focal Point for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

You will provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the child protection programme including MHPSS, through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Child Protection Programme within the Country Programme.

The Child Protection Officer will be based in the Gaza Field Office in the State of Palestine and will report to the P4 Child Protection Manager based in Gaza.

The Child Protection Officer reports to the Child Protection Manager for supervision. The Child Protection Officer will also serve as the Gaza Technical Focal Point for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements

• Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in International Development, Psychology, Sociology, Law - International, Social Science, Human rights and any other related fields.
• Work Experience: At least 1 years of relevant work experience in Child Protection, child protection, mental health, psychosocial support, program development, program monitoring, partnership development, capacity building, humanitarian operations, donor reporting, knowledge management. and any other related fields.
• Skills: Child Protection, Mental Health, Psychology, Sociology, International Development, International Law, Social Science..
• Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic are required. 

Desirables

1. 1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
   2. Humanitarian Experience, Evidence-Based MHPSS,
