Department Overview

The position is part of our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) organization which operates and manages MSI Public Safety Application SaaS platform. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the security of these mission critical systems that are used everyday by public safety and government agencies across multiple countries. In this role, you will also be working in a world-class team that uses state of the art technologies and techniques. Your efforts will help to shape engineering culture and standards across our software product organization.

Job Description

Main Functions:

• Monitor for and respond to potential security incidents

  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 level support for our SOC when responding to security alerts 

  • Assist in performing forensic analysis and remediation of security incidents

• Assist with maturing our SecOps team capabilities

  • Research potential threats to our environment through threat intelligence reports

  • Assist our Threat Detect team build more advanced/robust detections

  • Assist in tuning and enhancing existing detections

  • Automate manual tasks

  • Develop internal incident response playbooks

  • Help improve logging across critical data sources

• Help train Tier 1 SOC Analysts on triaging existing and new alerts in environments they monitor

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Cloud experience required (Azure/AWS)-(Strongly preferred)

• SOC Automation experience - Familiarity with at least one scripting language -(Preferred)

• Previous experience working in 24/7 SOC - (Required)

  • Monitoring and responding to security incidents

  • Familiarity with incident management process, incident triage, and escalation procedures.

• Experience in developing detections for attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures TTPs (Required)

• Strong UNIX/Linux experience preferred-(Preferred)

• Familiarity with cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, docker-(Preferred)

• Experience with Purple teaming tools such as Atomic Red Team, Stratus Red Team- (Preferred)

• Familiarity with modern web based application design and application security principles is a strong plus.(Preferred)

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of work partners including developers, product management, tech support, legal, and senior management.(Required)

We are open to candidates working remotely located in the United States of America or Canada.

 

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" which would require successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

At least 2+ years of Cloud experience (AWS / Azure highly preferred)
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
