Position Specific Description
The Project Support/Business Analyst Intern position offers dynamic hands-on experience in IT project management and governance within NextEra Energy's technology operations. The intern will contribute to project documentation, tracking, and status reporting while supporting solution design and implementation alongside cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include developing PowerBI dashboards for data visualization, tracking project metrics and governance compliance indicators, and participating in comprehensive testing activities from test case development through defect tracking. The role emphasizes cybersecurity collaboration through compliance reviews, risk assessments, and validation activities, while building professional skills through project meetings, deliverable reviews, stakeholder communications, and leadership presentations. This position provides valuable exposure to governance framework implementation and risk mitigation planning, developing critical competencies in data analytics, software testing methodologies, cybersecurity compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. It serves as an ideal foundation for students pursuing careers in project management, cybersecurity, or IT operations while contributing meaningfully to NextEra Energy's strategic objectives. Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
