What it's about

 

In this position, you will be part of a dynamic and growing global real estate asset management team within a large, established investment platform.  Your responsibilities will include working closely with team members and local operating partners to drive real estate investment performance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Drive asset investment performance from acquisition through divestment working in conjunction with senior asset managers, local operating partners, leasing/sales agents, and technical consultants
  • Evaluate financial implications of major decisions, including major leases, debt terms, CapEx scope/budget changes, hold/sell/refinance and write recommendation memo for presentation to Investment Committee
  • Perform periodic reforecast and re-underwrite of each investment using Excel and Argus
  • Evaluate and execute annual business plans, including value creation initiatives, operating budgets and exit strategy
  • Review monthly and quarterly financial results against budget and make recommendations to improve investment performance

 

What we expect

For this position, we are looking for a person who works well in an entrepreneurial organization, who is a self-starter and possesses strong communication, networking and organizational skills. The successful candidate should have the following profile:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university with coursework emphasis on real estate, finance, economics, accounting or similar subject preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience preferably at a real estate operator/developer, REIT, or brokerage
  • Excellent quantitative skills: preferably with experience building real estate valuation models and distribution waterfalls
  • Excellent understanding of return matrix (IRR, equity multiple, cash yield, YOC, etc.), cash flow pro forma models and distribution waterfalls
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and ARGUS
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Travel may be required
