The Business Growth and Entrepreneurship (BG&E) pillar, as part of the Office of DEI for JPMC, is responsible for driving impact by advancing underrepresented business owners’ access to capital, connections and education through three teams: Traditional Businesses, High-Growth Businesses and Investors, each aligned with lines of business partners and their customer segments.
In this role as a Senior Associate for the Business Growth and Entrepreneurship (BG&E) pillar within DEI, you will be responsible for implementing and managing high-priority programs and impact metrics on the Traditional Businesses team. This will include delivering education, programs and initiatives that drive growth and sustainability for entrepreneurs and their businesses.
You will work with the BG&E leadership team to coordinate existing strategic initiatives throughout the lifecycle of programs including planning, analysis, and scalability. This position will also play a critical role in supporting the development of new and enhanced programs through collaborations with other internal stakeholders including Corporate Responsibility, Global Supplier Diversity, lines of businesses, along with external partners.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and enhance existing programs that demonstrate effectiveness in supporting growth and sustainability of small businesses
- Assess feasibility of expanding programs and identifying additional partners with track records of reaching target communities
- Research and understand the needs, pain points, opportunities and landscape of small businesses and entrepreneurship across life-cycle and the internal resources available to support
- Build evaluative tools to deliver scaled, intersectional and metrics-based programs
- Support development of new, innovative intersectional programs with meaningful outcomes (for example increased revenue, job creation)
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships within DEI and Corporate Responsibility, in order to influence and build data based business cases
- Collaborate with internal partners to deliver centralized, educational content and events applicable across all BG&E communities
- Maintain a strong controls environment by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures and processes
- Establish processes for action-based planning, updates, feedback and issue resolution tracking
- Monitor ongoing program deliverables, identify gaps and propose solutions
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Program Management: 4+ years of program management experience supporting large, complex projects and programs. Candidate should demonstrate strong organizational, strategic and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written); strong ability to articulate concepts and translate content into executive level presentations that can be delivered to stakeholders at all levels internally and externally as well as strong note-taking skills to leverage for meeting minutes and status reporting
- Decision-making and ownership: Shows high degree of independent decision-making, and ability to prioritize and use sound judgement. Displays an ownership mindset and willingness to own projects and issues from end-to-end
- Relationship Management: Strong relationship management and collaboration skills to be leveraged across a firmwide, global network; able to build new partnerships and influence others
- Teamwork: Outstanding partnership and collaboration skills that center around promoting a shared purpose, instilling trust and fostering teamwork across functions, businesses, and regions at all levels in the organization.
- Tools and systems: Demonstrated intermediate or advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
