Overview

The addition of this role is to address the tremendous growth in AT&T Fiber Broadband services in providing MultiGig services, the advancement of 25G Broadband services and other similar projects. We are seeking candidates who are not only capable of pioneering novel concepts, but also desire to become proficient at designing and developing groundbreaking Broadband technologies.  A crucial part of this role involves steering the implementation of Broadband solutions across multiple product owners and stakeholders in organizations within AT&T and the industry. Relevant technologies that the role will be dealing with include, but are not limited to, Ethernet networking (L2/L3), PON (Passive Optical Networks), Network Security, Optical Network Engineering (DWDM) and Industry Standards.

Skills and qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with 1-2 years of experience or an advanced degree and strong understanding of Ethernet networking (L2/L3), Network Security, and Data Sciences
• This role will expand the candidate's understanding and skills in areas such as IPv4 or IPv6 and L2/L3 networking, PON (Passive Optical Networks), Network Security, DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), and Optical Network Engineering to contribute to AT&T development of Broadband services. Candidates who have gained knowledge or hands-on experience in these or similar technological areas through classroom learning or otherwise, will have a unique edge in this role. This position provides an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop these skills in a practical context.
• Familiarity with Information and Network Security, Secure Mutual Authentication  and Pre Shared Keys.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven record of documenting complex engineering designs and presenting these to both peers and executive teams with clarity and confidence.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be comfortable working closely with client sponsors, other Solution Architects, Suppliers and/or product marketing teams, fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
• Candidates should possess the capability in conveying requirements to suppliers and ensuring adherence to these requirements upon delivery. This will involve closely collaborating with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and guaranteeing that all deliveries align with our quality standards and expectations. This skill will play a significant role in maintaining efficient and effective supplier relationships
• Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, exhibiting a balance of innovative problem-solving skills and customer-oriented communication abilities.

• A love for working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, with the ability to maintain focus and productivity even amidst change.

Education Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline e.g. Computer Science, or Engineering.

Our Sr. Specialist Member of Technical Staff earn between $122,000 – $183,000 USD, annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
