Special Assistant

Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducted independent research, analysis, and synthesis of complex, ambiguous, and emerging program issues from diverse and often conflicting sources to develop authoritative guidance and innovative solutions for CBP initiatives. Developed and maintained robust relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including high-ranking senior officials from federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, law enforcement agencies, and non-governmental organizations, to advance agency objectives. Supported the successful engagement and coordination of CBP's strategic priorities with key stakeholders by providing expert consultation, advising on communication and partnership strategies, and representing CBP at high-level external meetings and conferences. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 07/24/2026.
