Job Description

This is a position in a firmware development part in customer engineering team to develop, debug, validate, and optimize storage firmware on embedded multi-core architectures and support Customer design-in and qualification

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The main duties are to develop, debug, validate, and optimize storage firmware on embedded multi-core architectures and support Customer design-in and qualification of Sandisk SSDs.
  • Designing, implementing and integrating critical firmware components for SSD products
  • Analysing, troubleshooting, fixing issues discovered by internal test teams or by customer use of the products
  • Representing the Customer Engineering team in one or more multi-disciplined engineering core teams
  • Designing, developing Proof of Concepts prototype firmware in collaboration with Customers or ecosystem Partners, to enable sandbox testing of new technologies for next generation SSDs
  • Occasionally calls with FAE/Account Team, and Customers to present technical details
  • Travel (when possible) to Customer site for debugging of critical issues
  • Contributions immediately impacting Sandisk’s success in fast paced environment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Degree in Computer/Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Proficiency in C/C++ 
  • Familiarity with SW algorithm development
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with cross-functional and cross-cultural global teams

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge NVMe/PCIe Protocol Interface
  • Knowledge of the Agile software development process life cycle
  • Knowledge of Windows / Linux / Chrome PC architecture and ecosystem
