A Day in the Life
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Participate on the S&OP process
- Keep a continues communication between all areas and use information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a high-performance team. Cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Manage warehousing processes to ensure seamless movement of goods throughout the supply chain.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs
- Develop and implement systems to assure optimum inventory levels and on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, while minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement viable, permanent solutions to materials related issues. Work with both internal and external customers to develop solutions which meet company-wide needs and objectives.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the most efficient and economical methods to transport raw materials and components utilized in all products at all locations.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing and R&D teams to source raw materials, packaging and logistics solutions.
- Support and develop ideas of procedures to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.
- Identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the materials management through data analysis and performance metrics. Mapping out current processes to understand potential areas for optimization.
- Exploring and implementing technology solutions like warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking systems, and supply chain management software to enhance visibility and efficiency
- Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of implemented changes and identify areas for further improvement
- Monitors the implementation of recommendations suggested to streamline current systems to optimize, maintain, and transform current processes, and approves and makes future-oriented decisions to move forward with research plans to develop innovative strategies to streamline new/existing business operating models according to materials management future state.
- Manage and supervise external contractors to ensure seamless support for essential site functions such as cafeteria services, facility cleanliness, and security.
- Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.
- Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.
- Plans and analyzes activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
- Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.
Nice to Have
- APICS certifications, Green Belt Certification, Lean Management
- Understanding lean principles and other optimization techniques.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in demand forecasting, inventory planning and order management
- Strong leader
