Senior Director, Head of Global Strategic Insights – Oncology
Location: Collegeville, PA and London, UK

GSK is seeking individuals’ collaborative mindset to drive strategic insight generation that will help define Global Product Strategy for some of GSK’s Oncology portfolio. Leading a team and working closely with leadership across business functions you will:
- Help shape the relevant portfolios and thought partner with the global product strategy leads
- Lead and manage a team of market research professionals, guiding them in the design, execution, and analysis of market research projects to assess market trends, competitive landscape, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities
- Be responsible for team connectivity with the business, the team’s development and wellbeing
- Lead the cross-functional team to consolidate these insights, competitor data, development updates, medical inputs & Voice of the Patient and translate these into concise and impactful recommendations, which carry the credibility to drive action
- Direct the insight generation to shape and drive commercial forecasts for your team’s assets
- Partner cross-functionally on business development search and evaluation initiatives
- Build and lead an above-asset view of the relevant spaces to ensure aligned thinking and a single-source of truth for assets in the same space
- Identify, assess and implement better ways of working, including technology and innovation solutions to accelerate senior leader decision-making

- Drive commercial forecast generation to ensure seamless integration of market and customer insights into sound forecasts that contribute to stage gating and investment planning decisions
- Manage vendor relationships to achieve a mutually rewarding partnership while ensuring excellence in insight generation execution
- Leverage a wide range of tools and resources to identify opportunities, assess program potential, and provide guidance to optimize development plans
- Ensure 100% adherence to market research compliance guidelines and all GSK policies and procedures
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA required
- 10+ years of professional experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech or medical devices
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in people management
- Minimum of 6 years in insight, business/commercial strategy, marketing, and or marketing/sales analytics
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Oncology, Specialty or Rare Disease experience is preferred.
- Successful matrix leadership. Experience working in a cross-functional capacity
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior commercial leadership and confidently defend informed recommendations
- Clear potential to grow in to and through this role into other senior leadership roles in future
- Preference will be attributed to applicants with both market research AND forecasting expertise
- Strong business acumen
- Executive presence that brings gravitas to outputs and recommendation
- Significant experience conducting qualitative and quantitative market research
- Ability to leverage and synthesize a broad range of information sources to develop insight and generate clear, actionable recommendations that impact/drive decision-making at a business unit level
- Deep understanding of the global pharmaceutical industry
- Strong verbal and written communication/ presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and influence without formal authority
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior commercial leadership
- Agility, flexibility, and comfort with ambiguity
