Work Experience Description:

Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.

Position Scope

  • Provides memorized or spontaneous narration for the luau show.

  • Attends practice sessions to learn a new show, song or to upgrade the quality of current performance.  

  • Sings designated musical selections as lead singer using other musicians as back-up.  

  • Greets arriving guests and/or bids farewell to those guests leaving the show.  

Requirements

  • Good health and a voice that can endure up to one hour of speaking and singing in any given time frame, be able to sing lead and to harmonize.

  • Capable of a full range of body movement.  

  • Looks Polynesian. 

  • Able to speak clearly, and communicate in English.  

  • Must be available through summer break

Must attach resume and current semester class schedule (weekly view).

Work Schedule
15 hours (Schedule TBD)

Base Rate Per Hour
$16.00

All applicants must be available for an on-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI.


Approximate starting hourly rate:

$16.00 - $18.00
