Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Research Group of Prof. David Jenkins

Regular, Full-time, exempt (monthly)

The Position: The position of a Postdoctoral Research Associate is open in the research group of Prof. David Jenkins in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  The Jenkins Group focuses on synthetic heterocyclic chemistry for catalysis and nanomaterials.  The researcher for this position will focus on the synthesis and characterization of metal-organic nanotubes (MONTs), the 1-dimensional analog to metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).  All candidates must have successfully defended and submitted their dissertation before their employment date.  The search starts immediately and continues till the position is filled.  Additional information about the Jenkins group can be found at https://jenkins.utk.edu/.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

·         The ideal postdoctoral research associate will work on assigned research projects on MONTs.

·         The postdoctoral research associate will mentor graduate and undergraduate student researchers as part of this sub-group.

·         Responsible for presenting and reporting research results and publishing scientific results in peer reviewed journals in a timely manner.

·         Ensure compliance with environment, safety, health and quality program requirements at UT.

·         Maintain strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics.
