Description

The Youth and Young Adult Workforce Development Workforce Development Director at Xiente facilitates group programs to empower individuals for economic mobility and to be ready for workforce opportunities. This role includes coordinating workforce development initiatives, managing program logistics, and leading workshops and training sessions. Responsibilities also involve providing career guidance to teens and identifying student enrichment opportunities. The ideal candidate will have strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills, with experience in workforce development and mentoring group activities.?  

Requirements

 

Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks:  

  1. Collaborate with the COO and staff on strategic workforce initiatives, including developing and implementing an annual action plan for the Workforce Readiness Program including setting year-end objectives, implementing workforce development curriculum (such as NCCER), planning activities, and creating assessment measures to ensure the highest quality of service delivery. 
  2. Direct, develop, implement and oversee systems and processes related to youth career services and economic mobility. 
  3. Develop and implement workforce readiness programs, training and activities and ensure deliverables are met on time. 
  4. Supervise workforce development staff. 
  5. Formulate, implement, and review short and long-term Workforce Development program policies, objectives, goals, and plans. 
  6. Prepare, monitor, and control division budget for allocated funds in a responsible manner. 
  7. Design and administer training and employment programs in accordance with grant provisions. 
  8. Meet with local industry representatives to determine the youth workforce and or talent needs. 
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with training providers to develop necessary and responsive workforce solutions. 
  10. Develop and lead workshops and training sessions designed to enhance workforce readiness.? 
  11. Seek out certification programs, trade school scholarships, extension classes, youth exchanges, and community service opportunities for students.? 
  12. Provide career and workforce opportunity guidance and exploration activities to teens as needed.? 
  13. Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, school staff, local businesses, and key stakeholders to attract participants to the program.? 
  14. Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and outcomes.? 
  15. Perform any other task required by the COO or Xiente Management that may be compatible with the purpose of the position.?

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:  

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.? 
  • Two years of experience in training, workforce or career development programs.? 
  • Experience navigating Philadelphia employment opportunities and supporting candidates in applying for and securing jobs.? 
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with multiple stakeholders.? 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.? 
  • Prior experience in workshop development and facilitation (required).? 
  • Experience with budgets and grants preferred.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite and social media platforms.? 
  • Ability to analyze and use data to inform decision-m
