Summary
The Customer Service Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clerical staff, ensuring the efficient and timely processing of receipts, shipments, customer inquiries, reports, and billing. This role will require strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of clerical personnel, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support as needed
- Ensure the timely and accurate entry of receipts, shipments of goods and materials, in compliance with company policies and procedures and in various systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support periodic physical inventory counts
- Ensure that all safety protocols and standards are followed, and that all employees are trained on safe operating procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to inventory, equipment, or personnel
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. transportation, customer service) to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Educational background / Work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Experience with inventory management, shipping and receiving, and order fulfillment
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and other stakeholders
- Solid understanding of clerical systems and operations, inventory management, and logistics processes
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
