Job Description
Directs and coordinates activities of the Operations department for 2nd and 3rd shift. This includes manufacturing and packaging of products as well as managing of material handling activities.
Responsibilities - Job duties to include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of manufacturing associates and material handlers on both 2nd and 3rd shift
- Coordinates with other supervisors to ensure business requirements are met.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and other problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Reviews manpower requirements and recommends adjustments based on schedules and material inputs.
- Review the performance of employees and institutes corrective action or training when required. Maintain disciplinary process and participate in grievance resolution.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, increase efficiency and quality of product.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but not limited to participation in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Works with factory management to resolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to next level management for action.
- Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications
Experience: 5 years of manufacturing experience. Supervision experience preferred.
Education: Associates Degree and/or four years’ experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Word).
- Experience in working in a Union environment.
- Preferred experience with SAP.
- Preferred experience/knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
Background: This position may require Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting via the TSA. If required, applicant must successfully pass a federal background investigation. This position may require a U.S. Personal Security Clearance.
