Position Overview:  

Bellwether Housing is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to help support Bellwether residents by offering available resources and referrals to community members while helping build and maintain a sense of community. The Resident Services Coordinator works with our residents and property management team at Sunrise Tower Apartments, a diverse community of Seniors in Seattle’s Belltown Neighborhood.  


Work Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days onsite, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The final schedule is to be determined by the supervisor.  


Your Impact:  

  • Link Bellwether residents and external community service agency resources.  
  • Maintain and facilitate relationships with service agencies. 
  • Network with other social service organizations and initiate new community partnerships to offer additional services and support to residents.   
  • Attend staff and community meetings. Update and share new resources with Bellwether staff and residents as needed.
  • Educate residents about community resources and services, arranging for regular educational presentations oriented towards aging in place. Provide residents with supportive coaching and follow-up.  
  • Plan and host regular social/community building activities in building common areas. 
  • Market program/conduct outreach to all residents on an ongoing basis, visiting residents in their homes if needed.  
  • Provide resources and referrals to residents as needed.  
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of residents and compliance with regulatory requirements. Archive all required forms and case notes securely.  
  • Distribute monthly newsletters, brochures, and other relevant materials to residents, ensuring that communication accommodates language differences, cultural differences, visual impairments, and other necessary accommodations as requested by residents.  
  • Participate in activities and trainings related to understanding diversity, discrimination, and building cultural competence. 
  • Complete all reports in an accurate and timely manner.  
  • Complete all required training each year. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Requirements

Who You Are:  

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience providing social services to older adults and/or adults with disabilities, preferably including information and referral services.  
  • Ability to communicate with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) speakers using interpretation services (Google Translate, Language Link phone interpretation, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of aging issues and familiarity with services for older adults in the Seattle area. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with older persons and their families and children, community groups, caregivers, staff from partnering agencies, and volunteers. 
  • Ability to maintain a regular, reliable attendance record. 
  • Familiarity or fluency with Chinese languages (Mandarin, Cantonese). 
  • Knowledge of Family Metrics software. 
  • Experience building community within a diverse population. 
  • Direct experience providing services to low-income households, and/or adults with disabilities. 
  • Experience navigating public assistance programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, or SNAP. 
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and familiarity with the mental health system in the Seattle area. 
  • High school degree or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field (four additional years of equivalent professional experience may be substituted for a degree) preferred, not required
