About the role

As a (Contract) Theatrical Marketing Manager, you are passionate about your craft and have a background in building film or entertainment campaigns. You will lead the global release of new and sustaining anime film releases across a diverse range of genres, leading and galvanizing the work with several internal and external teams, and maintaining and building relationships with our creators / licensors. You will manage theatrical marketing campaigns from brainstorming to execution, including campaign positioning and strategy, tactical campaign execution, and creative asset management, with a direct emphasis on film campaigns that increase awareness and global box office. You will oversee the end-to-end launch, management, and tracking of theatrical campaigns across traditional, digital, and emerging platforms.

Core Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Lead impactful theatrical or entertainment campaigns that connect to audiences and promote engagement
  • Develop and manage 360 integrated campaigns (including AV/trailers, digital/social, print and out-of-home) at a global level.
  • Prepare, develop, and deliver campaigns, including title positioning and messaging, research, requesting creative assets, project managing, and working across external and internal partners. 
  • Manage marketing budgets and timelines, ensuring relevant partners stay informed about any campaign changes, milestones, and deliverables as they are met.
  • Work with global partners (external and internal) to plan campaigns and oversee execution across digital platforms, TV, events, and OOH while keeping cultural nuances top of mind.
  • Collaborate with multiple territories on campaign components and marketing plans, ensuring understanding of the overarching global campaign strategy, which includes campaign pitch, trailer launch, campaign strategy share-outs, and main campaign asset development. 
  • Work on campaign recaps and ongoing reporting.
  • Manage multiple titles simultaneously and work with many different internal and external teams (brand, publicity, research, data, research, and partnerships) to gain input on strategic direction and inform planning and strategy.
  • Explores movies, films, and competitive market trends to develop campaigns.

In the role of the (Contract) Theatrical Marketing Manager, you will report to the Director, Global Theatrical Marketing. 

We are considering applicants for the location of Culver City, CA.

About You

  • 7 years of experience in Marketing
  • 3 years of experience in entertainment; preferably film or streaming
  • Experience with end-to-end campaign management, including scope, budget, timing, and resources
  • Experience creating presentation decks and presenting in front of partners
  • Experience using research to develop marketing strategies and decisions
  • Bachelor's degree with Marketing or a related field, such as Business Administration, Communications, or Digital Media.

About the Team

The Global Theatrical Marketing team is at the center of all Crunchyroll film releases, with the mission of maximizing audience engagement and worldwide excitement for every Crunchyroll film premiere. We are not only responsible for the strategy and positioning of titles, but also for the full funnel execution of those campaigns. We serve as the liaison between Crunchyroll teams and Sony Pictures Entertainment home office. We measure success by evaluating box office targets, campaign milestone achievements, and more.

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
