Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

As a Sr Deputy Program Manager Engineering (DPME) for the Torpedo Systems Group, you work closely with the Senior Engineering Leadership, Chief Engineers and Business Area Managers to plan, authorize, and drive execution of the engineering tasks to completion (including providing strong leadership to ensure all events occur as planned). You will be the face of program engineering teams to stakeholders and will work closely with Program Management to ensure contract obligations are met.

  • Overseeing program technical performance across engineering efforts to ensure requirements are validated, integrated, tested, and verified
  • Developing and maintaining engineering plans, risks, and opportunities while adhering to change management processes and GDMS standards
  • Managing engineering resources including staff assignments, capital equipment, organizational interfaces, and engineering scope
  • Conducting engineering status reviews and providing material for program reviews, including implementing corrective actions
  • Providing input to leadership on new business opportunities, internal research and development, or business expansion initiatives

What you'll experience:

  • Staffing and leading project teams in coordination with Senior Engineering Managers and Directors of Engineering
  • Managing resolution of technical issues and communicating outcomes to all affected parties and artifacts
  • Driving engineering plans, risks, and opportunities while following change management processes
  • Contributing to program reviews and implementing effective corrective actions as required
  • Identifying opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

What sets you apart:

  • Technical and management credibility demonstrated through past experience in DoD or similar environments
  • Experience preparing cost and schedule estimates for design tasks
  • Proven success with Agile practices and processes in a DoD setting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage geographically separated engineering teams
  • Experience brokering consensus among diverse stakeholders and organizational interfaces

Workplace Options:

This position is ON-SITE in Canonsburg, PA. A hybrid work schedule may be available in the future, but will require a minimum of 3 days per week on-site.
