What you get to do:
You will be responsible for the management of general park and ride maintenance. This position also:
- Manages and coordinates all activities of workers engaged in maintenance and ride tasks
- Manages and coordinates all activities of workers engaged in water quality and pool cleaning tasks
- Work closely with design and engineering team for master planning and park capital expenditures
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues
- Maintain all rides as per manufacturer’s specifications and advises others
- Directs all green tag procedures for rides and assigned equipment, to include water testing and recording
- Enforces safety regulations and ensures team member policy compliance
- Maintains records, provides communication and necessary follow-up with regulatory agencies including DOSH and/or Health Department
- Maintains inventory and spare parts or supplies for assigned ride, maintenance and water quality areas
- Prepares budget and performs monthly tracking of expense and labor utilization
- Establishes and manages policy and practices for the rides and maintenance areas
- Schedules all routine and annual maintenance of assigned rides.
- Communicates project status and priorities to senior leadership
- Contacts vendors and coordinates work for repairs, new work, and preventative maintenance
- Other duties as required Including assisting other locations, departments, and areas in the park as needed
What it takes to succeed:
- At least 18 years of age
- Three years leadership experience required
- Five years maintenance and/or rides maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Have and maintain a valid state driver's license; visiting applicants and military must have valid driver's license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report. Must be able to obtain a park driver’s license
- NAARSO or AIMS certified preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain this certification within 1 year
- Current AFO or CPO certification preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain this certification within 1 year
- Working knowledge of hand, electrical, power and air tools
- Able to operate mechanical devices such as fork lifts to include telescopic handler (reach fork or boom lift)
- Able to climb and work at heights up to 200+ feet using a ladder or stairs or other equipment such as a lift
- Previous water park or resort experience working with water chemistry and water quality preferred
- Pass a maintenance exam on all rides to be maintained
- Pass an annual paperwork audit on all rides that are maintained
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people, including guests, employees, and the general public
- Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, SAP, Parkware, BudgetWare and Business Objects reporting preferred
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand on ladders for long periods of time
- Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (i.e., sunlight, wet and/or humid conditions)
Compensation: $80,000-$85,000
