Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Dealer Systems & Web Portal Manager to join our ISD team in Kennesaw, GA. The Dealer Systems & Web Portal Manager will lead the strategic planning, development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Yamaha Business Partner portals across North America (U.S. & Canada). In this pivotal role, they will ensure the platform not only meets evolving business requirements but also delivers a seamless, user-centric experience that aligns with our company’s digital transformation goals and growth objectives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for the planning, scheduling, staffing, and monitoring of development and maintenance tasks for NA Dealer application systems, including call-in dealer system support functions.
- Coordinate the team’s efforts in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of new digital projects, ensuring adequate project plans are created, covering the entire system’s development life cycle.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders & Partners across departments to align portal capabilities with business strategies, drive adoption, and identify new opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a team of developers and technical specialists, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence
- Drive digital innovation through technology, optimizing business workflows and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance dealer engagement and operational efficiency
- Ensure that all YDS web development follows generally acceptable development policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data integrity standards across all dealer systems and web platforms, working closely with InfoSec
- Monitor & provide off hours support and problem resolution to ensure 24/7-hour system uptime level of service.
- Performs other duties as required
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent.
- 10 years of Information Systems experience in a large-scale corporate environment.
- 3-5 year’s experience managing a team of 5 or more developers.
- 5-7 years experience with Java and object oriented programming.
- 5-7 years experience with web development using HTML, Java Script, React, EXTJS, APIs, XML, WebSphere application server, IBM Http Apache server, Enterprise Java Beans, Oracle database and database support tools such as TOAD, IBM RAD development environment, Unix/Linux use/exposure and use of network tools such as WINSCP.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Ability to serve as a key liaison between IT and business units, facilitating regular feedback sessions, collaborative planning meetings to ensure stakeholder needs and insights are fully integrated into platform
- Experience with API integrations to external systems with technologies such as REST/SOAP
- Strong experience with client/server work environment.
- Exposure to Identity management, providers to facilitate single sign on (SSO)
- Exposure and practical experience working with front-end technologies such as Node.js, jQuery, ReactJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript & Ajax
- Familiar with both traditional waterfall and agile development methodologies as well as familiarity with change management tools (preferably Jira) or Service Now
- Strong business analysis and project management skills
- Knowledge of EXTJS to React migration is a plus.
- Experience leading a Center of Excellence (COE) with multiple stakeholders to align priorities and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, analytical presentation skills, problem solving skills and learning attitude
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to promote change in an environment of rapidly changing technologies and business processes.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously to achieve results.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with users at all levels throughout the organization.
