Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Consumer Collection-Complaints)

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to be a part of our Consumer Collection-Complaints Team. We are a cross-functional team responsible for one of the core functionalities of the app - the orders system, from the moment a reservation is placed to the moment the order is collected. As a Team Member in the Consumer Collection-Complaints Team, you will work towards specific outcomes with the freedom and responsibility to figure out the best way to achieve them together with the other Engineers on the team. You will be involved in all parts of the process when refining, designing, implementing, delivering and maintaining product features.

You will maintain and add more functionality to the current system and help improve the general flow. The core system is highly concurrent, heavily relying on message queues, locking and eventual consistency. 

We expect you will develop, build and deliver top-class functionality, ensuring quality, maintainability, and sustainability. Supported by other experienced colleagues who will guide, train and encourage you to push limits, and improve. We want to be proud of our work and focus more on quality than deadlines.

The Tech Stack

We have created a scalable Spring Boot Application running on Java 21 in Kubernetes, deployed in a multi-region setup in AWS. Developers are able to run a full development environment locally, which gives a great developer experience.

The ideal candidate

• A wealth of experience in Backend development with the Java ecosystem.
• Proven production experience with Java, SpringBoot, MySQL, Message Systems & GIT.
• Has worked with Domain Driven Design, and Clean, or Hexagonal- Architecture.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (SQS, SNS, S3…), ElasticSearch, Redis, GitHub Actions, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with building scalable solutions.
• Enjoys actively participating in a cross-functional product team.
• Takes pride in writing quality code.
