The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments seeking a Kettle Polisher for their Cooking Business Unit located in Troy, Ohio.
The Cooking Business Unit produces Vulcan brand energy efficient steam cooking equipment including steamers, braising pans and kettles found in large chain restaurants, emerging/regional chains, independent restaurants, K-12 schools, grocery and hotels/recreation. Vulcan has been recognized by chefs and operators throughout the world for its top-quality, energy efficient commercial cooking equipment.
Job Description
The selected candidate will perform operations that include metal finishing, polishing and buffing to obtain specified finish, polish or luster to parts made from fabrication, sheet metal and stainless steel for the Kettle product line. Completion of these tasks involve understanding and utilizing various powered tools and equipment to achieve desired finish. This is a first shift position.
Qualifications
- Understanding of different grits to use to achieve finish.
- Ability to operate various metal finishing equipment, i.e. grinders, stroke sander, etc.
- Abiltiy to hold part in hands using fixture, supports or other holding device while exercising proper pressure, movement and duration to impact the polish, grind, and buff.
- understanding of polishing process to make necessary repairs while keeping aesthetic finish.
- Requires frequent standing/stopping in manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to follow safety and housekeeping practices.
- Previous experience preferred in polishing/grinding techniques in an manufacturing environment.
Additional Information
Starting pay $20.02 per hour, with increases after 90 days and after 6 months.
Requires working scheduled overtime.
