About the role
Senior Regulatory Counsel The Senior Regulatory Counsel plays a key role in advising business leaders to ensure the Company remains compliant with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance issued by various government authorities overseeing the consumer finance industry.Primary Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Guidance & Oversight
- Support the Legal team in monitoring and interpreting federal and state regulatory and legislative developments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to consumer finance laws and regulations.
- Analyze new regulatory changes and provide strategic advice on their implications for the Company.
- Compliance Leadership
- Maintain ongoing compliance by tracking the regulatory landscape, researching applicable laws, and updating internal policies and procedures accordingly.
- Monitor pending legislation that may affect business operations and provide timely updates to relevant teams.
- Work cross-functionally to implement change management processes in response to regulatory updates.
- Strategic Contributions
- Lead and participate in special projects related to regulatory compliance and legal risk mitigation.
- Assist with compliance-related assessments, including preparation for and response to state regulatory examinations.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
- 2–4 years of experience in consumer finance law or regulatory compliance.
Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for the Assistant General Counsel position.
