International Transportation Supervisor

Summary/Objective
The overall responsibility of a Transportation Supervisor is to coordinate, supervise, and optimize transportation activities, ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products within the plant's logistics operations. Overall role takes over for plants 4600, 5800 and 7400. This position will also expand to cover SVZ integration and ongoing business in Q2 2025.
Essential Functions

1. Implement the divisional strategy within the area of responsibility.
2. Oversee international and domestic cargo flows, including port operations and coordination with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
3. Support international shipment compliance, documentation accuracy and customs requirements.
4. Track port related cost (demurrage/detention/per diem) and implement measures to mitigate delays.
5. Building and developing a qualified and motivated team. Technical and disciplinary leadership, assessment and development of directly subordinate employees. Decide on individual personnel measures in coordination with HR.
6. Continuously standardising and optimising processes and organisational structures and initiating corresponding measures.
7. Plan human, material and financial resources. Adherence to the approved budget and initiation of appropriate measures in the event of threatened and identified deviations in coordination with the manager.
8. Review and comply with legal requirements and internal regulations, initiate appropriate action.
9. Implementing and ensuring efficient and effective processes in the company's internal IT systems and their documentation.
10. Lead and coordinate the transportation management team, assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members.
11. Communicate and negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners to secure transportation services.
12. Monitor and manage transportation budgets and expenses to ensure cost control and efficiency.
13. Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues or delays. Incorporate port logistics and international flows into overall transportation analysis and reporting.
14. Handle and resolve transportation-related issues and emergencies within the plants.
15. Implement and enforce transportation safety protocols and compliance with regulations.
16. Collaborate with other departments to align transportation strategies with plant and corporate objectives.
17. Continuously analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
18. Implement technology solutions and systems for enhanced transportation management and visibility within the plant.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary on occasion depending on work load.

Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed Bachelors in combination with five (5) years of professional experience in transportation and logistics
- Ability to coordinate transportation activities and teams effectively
