Position Title: Cross-Site Mental Health Program Manager
Position Classification: Regular, Exempt, Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
Reports to: Cross-Site Mental Health Officer
Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S., or a hybrid of these two options. This role requires working Eastern Time zone hours. This role also requires approximately 50% domestic and international travel.
Position Overview:
The Partners In Health (PIH) Cross-Site Mental Health Program Manager will drive programmatic, coordination and administrative processes for PIH’s global mental health team, which collaborates with 11 care delivery sites to strengthen mental health care delivery. The Manager will also lead the Cross-Site Mental Health Learning Collaborative and manage communications within PIH and with external partners. This role requires regular, frequent travel to PIH global sites, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
The qualified candidate has experience in multi-country program coordination and management, a background in global mental health or a related field, and experience living or working in resource-limited settings with culturally diverse colleagues and partners. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and implementation science principles. Success requires excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, and flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances.
Responsibilities:
Cross-site Collaboration (45%)
- Lead biweekly Cross-Site Mental Health Learning Collaborative sessions (content, logistics, speakers, interpretation, technical support).
- Coordinate internal and external initiatives for the Cross-Site Mental Health team, care delivery site teams, other PIH teams and external partners, including meetings, agendas, note taking, and follow-up.
- Plan and coordinate virtual and in-person cross-site workshops, conferences, and capacity-building activities, ensuring dissemination of resources and knowledge across sites.
- Facilitate collaboration, communication, and knowledge exchange across PIH platforms (Microsoft Outlook and Teams, WhatsApp), including maintaining an online resource library and engaging with external stakeholders.
Administration (30%)
- Manage team administrative processes, including the team calendar, meeting scheduling, expense reports, IT and procurement logistics.
- Oversee travel and logistics coordination for PIH colleagues and partners attending workshops, conferences, and cross-site events.
- Oversee contracting, onboarding, IT and logistic support for consultants, volunteers, and partners
Program Management (25%)
- Support mental health program management across care delivery sites, including workplan development and management, deliverable tracking, and collaboration with health information systems and quality improvement advisors to develop and manage routine mental health key performance indicators, data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Coordinate and support cross-site training and curriculum development initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with site-based and coordination site teams to create newsletters, reports, blog posts, advocacy materials, and presentations on PIH mental health work, for internal and external audiences.
- Supervise and manage cross-site and site-based interns and volunteers as needed, including coaching and mentorship.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor's or master's degree in global mental health, global health, public health, psychology, social work, or related field, and/or 1-3 years of experience in similar roles or industry, including multi-country program support and coordination; experience in resource-limited settings strongly preferred.
- 5-8 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for educational experience
