As the leader of the Consumer Software Platform Engineering team, you will lead a world class engineering organization delivering innovative experiences in consumer products family.  Our platforms include On The Go and In The Home platforms as well as Mobile and Cloud capabilities. These platforms collectively delivers  experiences like immersive audio, leading noise cancelling capabilities in products like headphones, earbuds, speakers, soundbars etc.  In this role, you will use your expertise in platform full stack development, embedded software development for platforms, mobile software specific developments and cloud capabilities. The SW platform leader will lead several managers managing teams of engineers underneath them. Delivering platform to support our product delivery as per roadmap (on-time/on-budget), scaling full stack teams including embedded development teams and building reusable software and applications to help Bose accelerate our consumer product strategy is a must.  You will work side by side with Consumer SW Delivery leaders and managers and talented engineers and researchers in a unique company culture that values innovation, great engineering and creating amazing customer experiences. Experienced SW Platform Development professionals with organizational leadership experience (manager of managers) and with an affinity for improving platform SW talents is required for this role.  

Responsibilities:

• Lead full stack SW platform organization to support consumer product delivery as well as partnership and alliances in line with the roadmap.
• Lead delivery of multiple Consumer SW platform releases namely Embedded On-The Go, In The Home, Mobile Apps & Cloud.
• Build SW platform capabilities and work with a team of world class software engineering managers to deliver innovation and SW engineering excellence in everything we do.
• Develop and nurture our high performing SW platform engineering team in Embedded, Mobile and Cloud space to deliver multiple SW platform releases in an agile manner
• Partner with SW product delivery leaders, SW Quality leaders, product managers, Advanced Development teams,  hardware, architecture and quality teams to define the platform priorities, refine processes, and deliver the maximum value for our customers
• Be a change agent, driven to continuously improve our ability to deliver world class experiences for our customers

Qualifications:

• Ability to inspire newly formed SW Platform organization in line with Bose culture is a must have
• 10+ years leading large SW platform development efforts is a must (leading multiple managers, organization of 100+ engineers supporting multiple complex SW programs)
• 10+ years of hands-on SW development and past coding experience is a must.
• Experience in Embedded, Mobile and Cloud space is required.  
• Experienced leading teams developing software in consumer electronics space desired
• Ability to spot check SW and codewalk throughs across SW teams will be expected.  
• Experience managing and developing teams globally across multiple regions
• Experience tightly managing software resources meeting schedules and delivery milestones with predictability 
• Experience developing software platforms on embedded platforms over Qualcomm, STMicro, NXP or other similar chipsets
• Experienced developing software platforms that works within complex ecosystem included but not limited to Android and iOS
• Experience delivering programs with a mix of fixed and flex resources globally
• Experience recruiting and growing SW platform talent at all levels of the organization    
• Track record of driving improvement cross functionally with hardware, UX, and Product management teams
