The Director of Coman and Supplier Quality is A member of the Quality leadership team, this position reports to the Chief Quality and Food Safety Officer and leads Co-manufacturing and Supplier Quality for the organization. This individual will support the 10+ manufacturing facilities and 1000+ suppliers to ensure that their Quality and Food Safety processes are compliant with required internal, customer and regulatory requirements. This role will also collaborate with other functions within Lyons to ensure that all products are safely designed and manufactured. 


Location: Walton, Kentucky


Core Responsibilities:

  • Works successfully within a team environment to share information and help others as needed.
  • Acts as the liaison to Procurement and Supply Chain on Co-man and Supplier quality needs
  • Creates and implements key metrics and scorecards with the co-manufacturing facilities
  • Assists the co-manufacturing facilities in consistently producing safe and highest-quality finished products.
  • Assists the co-manufacturing sites with the development and implementation of their Food Safety plans for Lyons products
  • Collaborates with the co-manufacturers on complaint management and resolution
  • Conducts quality and food safety      audits at the co-manufacturers and high-risk suppliers as needed
  • Serves as a resource for conducting risk assessments and assists efforts for problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales to identify, develop, and manufacture safe and high-quality food and beverage products
  • Leverage tools to assist R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales in advancing supplier quality
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to develop a collaboration with critical suppliers.
  • Other projects as directed by the Chief Quality Officer

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering or similar
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in manufacturing of foods and beverages

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in aseptic processing and filling of food and beverage products
  • Knowledge of ingredient management
  • Working knowledge of food processing and manufacturing
  • Ability to teach and train others  

Additional Considerations

Travel Requirements: 30-50% - Will be required to visit co-manufacturing and supplier facilities as needed
