Job introduction:
The Global Network Communication team within the Global Digital Services organization is looking to add a Scrum Master II - Network Security candidate to their team. This associate will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge security solutions that are located within Liberty Mutual Perimeter Security and Application Automation. The Agile Scrum Master II will be responsible for guiding and facilitating the Firewall Operations, Engineering, and Automation team in adopting and implementing agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. This role requires a deep understanding of agile principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive team performance and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT security, specifically in firewall operations and automation, and will be instrumental in creating an environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and innovation.
About the job:
- Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and focused on team goals.
- Coach and mentor team members on agile principles and practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization.
- Identify and remove impediments and obstacles that hinder the team’s progress, ensuring a smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with team manager, product owners and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and priorities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and security requirements.
- Manage the team’s sprint backlog, ensuring tasks are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized for effective execution.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, such as velocity, and team capacity, to provide insights into team performance and project status.
- Work closely with the perimeter security and automation engineering teams to understand technical requirements, challenges, and best practices, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Support the team in implementing and managing firewall solutions, ensuring they meet security standards, operational requirements, and compliance regulations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of firewall policies, rules, and configurations to protect the organization’s network infrastructure from threats.
- Encourage the adoption of automation tools and practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of firewall operations and engineering tasks.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual efforts, and enhance overall team productivity.
- Act as a liaison between the team and stakeholders, ensuring clear and transparent communication of project progress, risks, and issues.
- Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and network operations, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Prepare and present regular updates to management on team performance, project status, and any challenges faced.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, project management or ITRelevant certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Master, PMI-ACP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role, preferably in IT security or network operations.
