As a member of the Block Storage Data plane team, you will own the software development for core components and features on the I/O path of the Block Storage Service. It would be best if you were a strong C++ programmer and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems and design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
This position is located in our downtown Seattle or Santa Clara offices. Must be able to work in the office, no less than, Tuesday and Wednesday's each week. We’re looking for hands-on C++ software developers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available storage services. As an engineer, you will own the development for various components of the Block Storage Service Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the data plane stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience delivering large scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
• Experience developing clean code in C++ and scripting languages such as Python, etc.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threading, I/O paths, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized storage infrastructure, data management

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $73,700 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
