In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) is a dynamic three-week program designed for students and pre-professional dancers, ages 15 to 22, who possess strong technical training. Merging rigorous classical technique with a cutting-edge approach to contemporary and commercial dance, the program features a distinguished roster of faculty and guest artists.The CDI Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the success and smooth operation of the Summer Dance Intensive. This position supports students, faculty, and guest artists throughout the program by providing administrative, logistical, and rehearsal assistance. The assistant serves as a liaison between staff and participants, helping to cultivate a welcoming, organized, and professionally enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student and Faculty Support:
- Provide day-to-day support to students and faculty, addressing needs as they arise and ensuring an efficient flow of scheduled activities.
Attendance and Check-In:
- Facilitate daily student check-ins and maintain accurate attendance records for all scheduled classes and events.
Studio Preparation:
- Assist with setting up studios for classes, artist talks, and any hybrid or virtual sessions that occur throughout the program.
Rehearsal Assistance:
- Serve as a rehearsal assistant for guest choreographers and artists-in-residence, supporting the creative process and maintaining rehearsal efficiency.
Administrative Duties:
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including organizing materials, handling correspondence, and supporting program logistics as needed.
Event Supervision:
- Accompany and supervise students during weekend excursions and planned program events, ensuring student safety and engagement.
Classroom Support:
- Assist faculty and guest instructors during class sessions with logistical needs, technical support, and classroom management.
Injury Management:
- Maintain a detailed injury log for students and report concerns to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
Communications & Information Distribution:
- Help manage bulletin boards, distribute daily schedules or updates, and ensure clear communication of essential program information.
Mail and Materials Coordination:
- Support daily distribution of mail and materials to faculty, staff, and students.
Final Showcase Facilitation:
- Assist in the organization and execution of the SDI Final Performance Showcase, including student coordination and backstage support.
