GAL Manufacturing is looking to fill the position of Sr. Manager, Quality – Manufacturing, who under the direction of the General Manager – GAL, will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reducing costs through continuous process improvement (CPI) programs, optimizing quality management performance, analyzing manufacturing and quality system capabilities, driving continuous improvement projects, and creating quality control (QC) plans for new products. The Sr. Manager, Quality – Manufacturing should have a degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of related work and supervisory experience.
Requirements
We are searching for a candidate with:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required. Experience in similar industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronic/mechanical environments is acceptable.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managerial or leadership quality role required.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience/certifications ideal.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Standards, QMS, and manufacturing QC.
- Working knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, assembly, circuit board manufacturing and supply chain management programs.
- Knowledge of quality metrics, KPIs, and CPI programs.
- Ability to facilitate issues with customers, bringing in internal resources as needed.
- Host registrars, regulatory personnel, audits and customer visits.
- Experience with mentoring and managing a team.
- Project management skills a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Plan and facilitate quality needs, including QC strategy, new product Release To Manufacturing (RTM), policies, and SOPs.
- Create, deploy, and maintain the quality management system (QMS).
- Facilitate monthly management review meetings and reports, discuss Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and evaluate the status and adherence to the QMS.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct customer on-site audit events as required by the customer.
- Provide specific oversight of the company’s Return Material Authorization (RMA) process.
- Provide oversight and facilitate design control and the engineering change (ECN) management processes.
