What is the Global Information Security group responsible for?
Global information Security is responsible for the firm’s Cyber Security Risk program including program governance, program management, security operations, compliance, education and awareness, and risk management.
What is the Cyber Security Incident Response Director responsible for?
The Cyber Security Incident Response Director plays an integral role on Franklin Templeton’s Global Information Security team responsible for organizing, facilitating, communicating and directing global cross functional cyber response and recovery activities.
This role will interact at a senior level throughout the firm, directing and guiding response and recovery activities in coordination with Business and Crisis Response teams. In this role, organizational, communication and analytical skills are vital, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with staff and executive level leaders. This role is expected to be adept at working well with teams under pressure and compressed response timelines.
This role contributes to our Global Information Security strategic planning, maturing the firm’s cyber security business and cyber security incident response playbooks and related cyber resiliency plans. This role will collaborate within a cross-functional team environment and will interact with various groups, including Legal, Global Compliance, Data Privacy, Corporate Communications, Franklin Templeton Technologies, Business teams, third-party vendors, and internal and external customers.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Cyber Security Incident Response Director?
Manage critical security events of interest and potential incident investigations, partnering with other departments as needed. Coordinate and ensure cybersecurity incidents are prioritized at all hours of the day.
Serve as a point of escalation and incident commander.
Proactively adjust to upcoming company changes affecting the operation to modify response processes.
Present incident analysis and trend reporting to leadership, highlighting KPIs.
Review events and process effectiveness and make recommendations for change.
Plan, Participate and drive incident response tabletop exercises designed to identify gaps, improve skills, enhance communication and engage with key stakeholders.
Oversee IR playbooks, procedures and guidelines to ensure they align with industry best practices.
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Communication, Data Privacy, Technology, Security and Business teams.
Participate in monitoring internal and external events and stay tightly aligned with infrastructure and third-party, hosted, on-premises and end-user systems.
Review and communicate incident details from initial investigation through root cause analysis and post-mortem.
Acts as a change agent and drives the department and business forward using effective management, analysis and strategic skills.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Experience in leading incident or crisis response teams and communicating business risk from potential incidents or issues.
8+ years’ experience in a highly complex, dynamic environment with leadership responsibilities.
Experience managing a 24x7 operational environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with users, management, technical and non-technical teams.
Demonstrated experience leading cross functional globally distributed teams.
Experience driving response and process improvement capabilities at scale.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset, works calmly under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Demonstrates effective decision-making skills.
Bachelor's degree is preferred in Comput
