F&EM Projects Counsel
Flour and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is hiring for a F&EM Projects Counsel to be based in the state of Kansas in the United States!
Job Summary/ Purpose
The Orbia Legal Department is searching for an attorney to support several large capex projects. The role requires substantial experience negotiating and drafting engineering, procurement & construction (EPC) contracts, preferably in projects that involve US government funding. This position will not have supervisory responsibilities and will focus only on OFEM Mega Projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Working day-to-day with the large project teams, supporting requests for contract support and legal advice.
- Leading the negotiation and drafting of agreements, such as engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts and other project-related contracts, e.g., equipment and construction contracts.
- Analyzing a contract’s risk to the business and ensuring that the contracts meet company’s risk profile and the business unit’s objectives.
- Creating contract templates, clause banks, and involvement in other similar efficiency-improving projects for OFEM Mega Projects.
- Assisting in the development of and conducting training programs for the project teams with respect to contracting and other legal topics.
- Assisting in the development of and conducting training programs for the project teams regarding compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Collaborating directly with other members of the Orbia Legal Department as appropriate.
