Job Description

Title: Sr. Financial Analyst – Sales and Service Controlling

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare financial analysis for special engine pricing requests such as Additional Discount Requests for New Engine sales produced in Aiken.
  • Monitor development of assigned service P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash positions/ accounts. Conduct thorough analysis and provide transparency to management/ relevant business partners. Lead process to identify best solutions/ alternatives. Actively recommend countermeasures as required.
  • Be a business partner for our Customer Care Center as well as the Warranty team.
  • Guide New Business and Service cost center managers as a financial business partner for assigned area including but not limited to cost center report preparation, reconciliation of billings, cost allocation and set-ups. Monitor budget development.
  • Maintain and oversee maintenance of master data in SAP and other business relevant systems and timely preparation of daily, monthly, year-end related tasks.
  • Prepare daily/ monthly/ quarterly reporting tasks for headquarters and other managers outside of Controlling/ Finance. Conduct plausibility checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly/ quarterly/ yearly planning/ forecasting tasks for assigned area of responsibility. Conduct actual vs. plan comparisons to analyze variances. Ensure accuracy by working closely together with the internal business partners and financial shared service.
  • Perform tasks related to month end close. Support co-workers during month end closing process, e.g. revenue reconciliation, issuing credits/debits, processing monthly accruals, etc.
  • Support internal and external audit tasks for assigned area of responsibility
  • Manage special projects and miscellaneous ad-hoc requests as assigned including but not limited to preparation of financial analysis, evaluation of best alternatives & recommendations including scrubbing of legal cost allowance for governmental rates
  • Coordinate internal customer requests as back-up for Sales & Plant Controlling to ensure that all requests are directed properly and answered in a timely manner
  • Maintain knowledge of developments in the field of finance, controlling and economic theory.
  • Keep management actively abreast of progress, developments and pending problems.
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and 5 years of finance, project management or service support experience; or 9 years of finance, project management or service support experience.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.
  • Travel - domestic and international (if required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications and controlled systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving ability when issues are very complex.
  • Excellent organization, planning and follow up skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent knowledgeable of SAP systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of MTU products, and their applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Team player with strong ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in PC and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of RRSA Internal Control Systems
  • Knowledge of cost allowances for governmental rates
