Program Manager

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This individual partners with cross-functional teams, proactively manages risks, resolves challenges, and ensures all deliverables meet Amgen’s high standards of quality. This role supports the U.S. Medical Lead(s) in driving and executing product strategy for high-priority Rare Disease assets.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with cross-functional partners to manage US processes, advance alignment, and ensure deliverables are met.

  • Support US Rare Disease Medical Lead(s) and US Rare Disease Medical Team(s) in planning and executing product strategy for high-priority rare disease programs.

  • Organize and facilitate team meetings with a strong focus on timeliness and efficiency — preparing agendas, recording minutes, ensuring presentations are ready, distributing pre-reads, and managing follow-ups.

  • Oversee and track critical team initiatives, including budget management

  • Help keep critical projects within budget and timeline; proactively manage risks

  • Drive operational excellence and automation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies (including AI tools such as CoPilot) where appropriate.

  • Operate independently and with ambiguity, demonstrating adaptability in dynamic environments and applying continuous-improvement practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree & 2 years of Project Management experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree & 4 years of Project Management experience OR

  • Associates degree & 8 years of Project Management experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED & 10 years of Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management experience in the biotech industry.

  • Rare Disease experience and/or a strong scientific background.

  • Experience navigating complex processes and matrixed organizations.

  • Excellent communication
