Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. The Engineer assists in the design and implementation of computer and information networks, such as LAN, WAN, intranets, extranets, firewalls, and other data communications networks; performs network modeling, analysis, and planning; and may also design network and data communications hardware and software. Provides level 2 and level 3 network support in responding to incidents that affect network performance and availability.
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to:
- Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans
- Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews
- Support the network operations of the Production system
- Provides team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
- Develops, implements, and manages network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability
- Performs capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
- Pro-actively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience with a Bachelor’s
- Possess (at a minimum) a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks, F5 Networks, Wireless network standards
- Implementation experience of IPv4 and IPv6 experience.
- Firm understanding and experience with BGP and EIGRP routing protocols
- Experience with Cisco ACI
- Experience in administration of site-to-site VPN tunnels/cloud service/SD-WAN to ensure domestic and international locations maintain consistent network connectivity.
- Strong network background demonstrating leading projects for improving network and systems infrastructure, implementing new capabilities, and/or remediating problem areas.
- Background demonstrating the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment.
- Expertise in principals of networking, storage, server, and systems operations.
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting network, storage, application, server, and security systems monitoring logs, rules, and outputs to create actionable remediating tasks.
- A minimum of five years of experience supporting global network systems and subsystems; troubleshooting a wide range of LAN, Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), WAN, and network/service availability, and making recommendations for system fixes and enhancements.

Target Salary Range
