FIAR Analyst

Position Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented FIAR Analyst to support our Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in finance or audit and a passion for enhancing financial controls, improving reporting processes, and contributing to audit readiness.In this role, you will assist with evaluating internal controls, identifying gaps in financial processes, and supporting documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with federal financial management standards. This position is remote 3 days per week and requires an active Public Trust or have previously held in the past.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with internal control assessments and financial process reviews in accordance with FIAR guidance and OMB Circular A-123.
• Support the development of process documentation, including flowcharts, narratives, and risk/control matrices.
• Perform audit readiness testing and help identify gaps or weaknesses in internal controls and financial reporting.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather documentation and evidence to support audit findings and remediation.
• Help track corrective actions and remediation plans for deficiencies or audit findings.
• Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for internal and external audits.
• Stay current on financial management policies, audit regulations, and control frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for financial systems and reporting processes.
