<ul> <li><strong>Salary</strong>: £37,000–£42,000 (depending on experience)</li> <li><strong>Holiday</strong>: 20 days per year plus statutory holidays and Jewish festivals</li> <li><strong>Location</strong>: UK-based (with regular in-person delivery and stakeholder engagement) – BBYO offices in Elstree, NW London</li> <li><strong>Reporting to:</strong> Chair of Trustees (on behalf of the Board of Trustees)</li> <li><strong>Hours</strong>: Full-time, with occasional evening and weekend work (time off in lieu / flexibility expected)</li> <li><strong>Pre-employment checks</strong>: Satisfactory references and Enhanced DBS Disclosure. Right to work in the UK required.</li> </ul> <h2>Role Purpose</h2> <p>BBYO UK is the independent UK region of the world’s largest Jewish youth movement which engages around 70,000 teens across over 60 countries. BBYO is an inclusive and welcoming movement where Jewish teens of all backgrounds find belonging, develop their Jewish identity and build lifelong skills. We create meaningful experiences that resonate with teens today, supporting and empowering teen leaders to foster community and leadership.</p> <p>The Executive Director (ED) is the organisation’s senior staff leader, responsible for the overall management and delivery of BBYO UK’s programmes, safeguarding, fundraising, communications, partnerships and operational systems. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and volunteers, the ED will ensure BBYO UK is well-run, financially sustainable, and consistently growing the number of teens engaged in high quality BBYO programmes.</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>Leadership &amp; Management:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure the organisation’s ongoing excellence in programmes, fundraising, communications and systems, and compliance with financial, administrative and safeguarding policies.</li> <li>Actively engage and energise BBYO’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organisations, and funders.</li> <li>Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Board of Directors; attend and report to board meetings, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction.</li> <li>Lead, coach, and develop BBYO UK’s staff</li> <li>Ensure effective systems to track progress, regularly evaluate programme components, and measure successes that can be effectively communicated to key stakeholders</li> <li>Prepare the annual budget, and event / experience budgets, liaise with the Treasurer to establish financial policy, procedures and ensure fiscal health of the organisation; work with the bookkeeper and accountants to manage expenses, payroll, and year end accounts.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Fundraising &amp; Communications:<br/></strong></p> <ul> <li>Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing programme operations and regional expansion.</li> <li>Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.</li> <li>Use external presence and relationships to create new opportunities.</li> <li>Apply for and manage grants (with Trustee support, where applicable).</li> <li>Support the Board in the preparation and delivery of materials and plans to raise an endowment fund for BBYO UK.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong><strong>Planning and organisational growth<br/></strong></p> <ul> <li>Work with the Board and Trustees to drive BBYO’s strategic planning process and the development and execution of a five year business plan for the organisation.</li> <li>Manage the building of partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with funders, community leaders, and other stakeholders at each site.</li> <li>Consistently grow number of teens engaged by BBYO’s programmes</li> </ul> <p><strong>Partnerships and Programme Oversight:<br/></strong></p> <p>Trek (BBYO UK’s International Summer Tour to Israel/Europe/UK):</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Liaise with the trip providers and key partners</li> <li>Ensure legal compliance in all areas including safeguarding and financial management</li> <li>Prepare the Trek budgets</li> <li>Provide senior customer service to Trek families when necessary</li> <li>Support and oversee the itinerary and programme development</li> <li>Ensure administrative duties in respect to registration, marketing, recruitment, welfare are performed to a high standard.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>UJIA:</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Manage this relationship at a senior level, attending partnership and allocations meetings, supporting the professional development (POD) programme, and working with the professional team in allocations application submission and presentation.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>BBYO International:</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Manage funds allocated from BBYO International to the UK office</li> <li>Liaise with senior staff to ensure integration with the UK programme where appropriate</li> <li>Attend international meetings and events as requir
