About the Role
Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist provider of forensic mental health services. We are seeking a Hospital Lead, Psychiatry in this newly created role, to provide operational and strategic leadership for psychiatrists across Thomas Embling Hospital. This role ensures psychiatric care is safe, person-centred, and evidence-based, while fostering innovation and professional development.

You will work closely with the Director, Clinical Services to support broader directorate priorities, including governance, innovation, and integrated models of care.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead psychiatric services ensuring safe, evidence-based care aligned with strategic priorities.
• Supervise and develop consultants and registrars, promoting clinical excellence.
• Coordinate medical workforce planning, including rotation schedules and leave management, to maintain service continuity and operational efficiency
• Support the Director, Clinical Services strengthening clinical governance, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Drive workforce planning, governance, and service innovation.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and support integrated models of care.

About You
• Fellowship of RANZCP (or equivalent) and AHPRA registered, with substantial experience in psychiatry and prior experience as a forensic psychiatrist.
• Advanced Training Certificate highly regarded.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of clinical governance principles in the delivery of safe, high-quality forensic mental health services
• Proven leadership in clinical settings, including experience managing and supervising a medical workforce.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
