CNN Image+Sound Field Production Intern: DC - Summer 2026

Your New Role
CNN Field Production is responsible for capturing events, documenting news and telling the stories that illustrate CNN news events. This internship will be located in the DC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office and in the field on a regular cadence.
Your Role Accountabilities
Duties could include:
Assist CNN Photojournalists and Directors of Photography as they cover news events in and around Washington, DC on the front lines of history.
Learn to record events and tell stories to the highest ethical, aesthetic, editorial and technical standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates should be passionate about news
Self-motivated,
Able to multitask
Have a good attitude
Be able to function well in fast paced, high volume environment
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

What To Know Before Applying:
The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.
Program date options:
Option 1: June 1st – August 14th
Option 2: June 8th – August 21st
Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity
